Fixing suspend on Acer C720 running Linux Mint XFCE

Standard

I’ve been really impressed with my ex-chromebook so far, and getting the various features working (such as directly booting past the Chrome screen, touchpad and function keys) hasn’t been too difficult due to threads like this one on Reddit, as well as discussions elsewhere.

The problem I had was getting suspend to work, and in the end, the solution was really pretty simple.  Ignore the stuff about creating 05_sound files and other stuff in /etc/pm/sleep.d: the answer is just install the 3.17 kernel, which seems to fix it.

Thanks to /u/Headbite for the fix.
